Botox®

Botox® Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Wrinkles are the result of ageing and sun exposure. They can make you look older than you really are, or grumpy and/or tired when you aren’t, which can in turn affect your confidence and make you self-conscious. While you can’t stop the natural aging of the skin, there are solutions that can help reduce its effects, and Botox is one of the leading non-surgical treatments available to help with this.

Botox can be used to soften/remove wrinkles in the following areas:

  • Frown
  • Forehead
  • Corners of eyes (crow’s feet)
  • ‘bunny’ lines across the nose
  • Smoker/water bottle lines above the lip
  • Chin crease

It can also be used to relax muscles that cause appearances such as:

  • Droopy mouth corners
  • Ageing neck ‘bands’

Its is also used for facial slimming, with treatment of the masseter muscles, and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)

Small amounts of Botox® are injected into specific areas in the muscles that contract and create wrinkles. Botox® is a neuromuscular blocking injectable drug, which basically means it stops the transmission of chemicals that tell muscles to move.

A very fine needle is used, and the sensation is described as a small prick of minimal discomfort. Within days, these tiny facial muscles cease to contract, allowing the overlying skin to flatten out and appear smoother, fresher, and more youthful.
